The Fakhry Aid Foundation was established in 2012.

The aim of the Foundation is to serve the community around AF&Co.’s factory and farm located in the Nile delta.

The service is aimed at promoting socio-eco-environmental awareness and sustainability in a sector and area under accrued and pressures triggered by the stigmata of modern Egyptian society (rampant demography, wild urbanization, etc.), high illiteracy/poor education levels, poverty, conservatism, gender inequality, improper nutrition related diseases (obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular, etc.) and hygiene related diseases (hepatitis C, bilharzia, etc.)

The land, farm, and—today—factory on which AF&Co. is established is part of a 200+ years family farm continuum of which the past 65+ years as an aromatic farm have created indelible ties with the surrounding community and present day supply chain over 6 Fakhry generations.

Daily workers at the farm, planters, pickers, highly skilled plant grafters, tree pruners, nursery specialists, composting pilots, surrounding small and medium-sized land owners (who were gifted their lands from larger land swaths the Fakhrys owned in the area prior to the Agrarian Land Reform & Redistribution Program in the early 1960s), foremen, middlemen in our supply chain, and—last but not least—employees at the AF&Co. factory, who all hail from this community, have without exception participated in building the legacy of AF&Co. But a legacy is only worthwhile if it is future driven and dynamic, rather than historically encased and static.

This is where children and mothers become an important hinge in AF&Co.'s projection into the future.

The Fakhry Aid Foundation focuses on providing support and empowerment to what it believes are the two most important social subgroups of our community to establish a sound and sustainable society: women and children. Support and empowerment spans across after-school classes, extracurricular activities (ludic, educational, cultural, etc.), health & medical support (creation of the medical network of doctors/surgeons and clinics in Egypt, subsidizing surgeries and treatments, etc.), micro-financing projects, providing integrated agri-nutritional and health & hygiene awareness programs (PPP Mitigation Project, workshops in IPM, organic agriculture, water resources awareness, environmental civism, etc.)

The Fakhry Aid Foundation is entirely financed by a share of AF&Co.'s profits, while the revenues produced by women driven projects (e.g. COVID-19 masks designs, sewing, and sales, etc.) supported and managed by The FAF are entirely repaid to them.
